Academic writing is an essential skill in higher education, yet English academic paper composition faces challenges such as expression difficulties, incomplete content, citation standardisation issues, and format non-compliance. Teachers often struggle to provide comprehensive feedback within traditional classroom settings. Leveraging digital technology presents a promising solution. It broadens academic horizons, helps select research topics, and aids in refining language proficiency. Additionally, digital tools facilitate typesetting and formatting adjustments, easing the burden of intricate details. Furthermore, it enriches academic writing by introducing visual presentation.

It is well established that reading aloud plays a crucial role in children's development, particularly in enhancing language, literacy, and cognitive skills. However, the effects of reading aloud on second language learners remain underexplored. This study aims to investigate the impact of reading aloud on second language development and reading engagement of preschool learners acquiring a second language. Employing a mixed method approach, the research gathered data from multiple sources. Quantitative data were obtained through vocabulary assessments, while qualitative data were collected via interviews with the parents, discussions with a teaching assistant, and field notes. The analysis revealed that reading aloud positively influences children’s vocabulary acquisition. Notably, utilizing both the first language (L1) and the second language (L2) to read the same text significantly enhanced children’s vocabulary recognition skills. Furthermore, engaging reading sessions in both L1 and L2 fostered greater engagement among the children. Ultimately, the reading aloud interventions proved effective in nurturing and cultivating a love for reading among the participants.

Autism is a complex, incurable neurodevelopmental disorder with symptoms like fixed interests and difficulties with communication as listed by the DSM-5TR. In recent years, research has suggested a disparity in symptoms between men and women that grows with age. Due to environmental and biological factors, women with autism face what may be a very different trajectory of life originating from the same disorder. While various methods of treatment have been used for those with autism, there is little evidence for the effectiveness of sex-specific targeted interventions like mindfulness-based stress reduction on females. Through a transdisciplinary lens, literature from the past decade was collected to attempt to answer the question of “How and to what extent does mindfulness-based stress reduction reduce stress levels in females with autism spectrum disorder when it is taught to them?”. The effectiveness of mindfulness-based stress reduction is found to be greatly relevant to the sex-specific symptoms of females with autism across their lifespan, but it may not be the only possible targeted intervention that is successful with females.

Arranging internships for vocational college students is a crucial measure in establishing regional industry-education consortia and serves as an essential component of educational activities in vocational colleges. The successful implementation of internships relies on the collaboration and close coordination among students, vocational colleges, and enterprises. This study reviews and analyzes relevant literature on internships in vocational colleges from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) database. It further examines the impacts of the three key stakeholders—vocational college students, vocational colleges, and enterprises—closely related to internships. The aim is to enhance the standardization of research on vocational college students’ internships, broaden research themes, and explore additional methodologies.

This paper takes the political text China’s Beidou Navigation System in the New Era as the research object. Based on Jef Verschueren’s Adaptation Theory, it explores the English translation of words with Chinese characteristics in the text and analyzes how the translation is performed for the linguistic contextual or the communicative contextual adaptation. The translation methods adopted by translators in each case are also summarized and discussed in detail. This study is made with the expectation of providing some ideas for the future related researches.
